“Beautiful You” Conference

After attending the phenomenal experience of the Christian Women’s Conference entitled “Beautiful You” on April 19th and 20th, I’ve learned so much more about myself from a Godly perspective as opposed to the physical reflection I often evaluate in the mirror. If I could name my biggest takeaway, it would be best described by a quote that speaker Lisa Bevar mentioned in her sermon describing the conniving ways that the enemy takes note and studies us to lead to our ultimate destruction. She said, “The attacks on your life have more to do with who you might be in the future than who you have been in the past.” That really ministered to me because oftentimes as women, we get caught into this complex of trying to fit into a mold of what is considered to be stereotypically acceptable or beautiful at any given time regardless of the sacrifices it may entail; whether that be in the realm of health (dieting/unhealthy eating practices) or beauty (financial sacrifices or sacrifices of excessive amounts of time).

I felt that Lisa Bevar really challenged the women attending the conference to allow God to do the adorning by serving Him, and being the best we can by being responsible and accountable in every domain of our lives. The enemy will often try to deceive us into believing that we will never be good enough, but it’s only out of fear for who we might be if we put our trust in Christ alone. So I say pull out your swords ladies and prepare to fight in the spiritual realm against all the lies we’ve been fed thus far. You’re beautiful!
